Version 1.1 is currently being uploaded to Apple. This version provides a number of small improvements and fixes to the existing features of Scenic Map. The main focus of this update is to improve location tracking to support the release of the iPad 3G on April 30th.
Here is a list of the changes:
▶The map updates faster when scrolling and uses less battery power when tracking.
▶You can now drag the light to change the angle of illumination.
▶Double tap to zoom in. Triple tap to zoom out.
▶Two finger tap to change the month or reset the angle of illumination.
▶The map text is easier to read.
▶City search now tells you if no matches were found.
▶GPS tracking will no longer scroll the map out of the coverage area.
▶Fixed a bug in the GPS tracking that could cause the app to crash.
Update Status:
All versions of Scenic Map version 1.1 are now approved and ready for download.
Scenic Map Eastern USA version 1.1 was approved with the original eight tabs at the bottom of the screen on the iPad. It has originally been rejected because iPad apps should have only seven tabs at the bottom of the screen. To avoid this situation in the future, I am considering having only seven tabs by default but allowing users to choose to display eight tabs if they wish. Existing users would have eight tabs by default.
